Well, this is a experiment on where i attempt to explian the origin of my characters until they became the current version of themselves; despite i don't have all drawings of old versions of them characters, so with that i'm going to start with the first of them all: Sky Pixelton

The Pitch:

It was about 2016 when her main idea came up, back in those days I had a YouTube channel and teachnically i was part of a spanish channel that was part of a Network of channels and they actually helped some indies to develop their stuff, so i asked them "Hey, how can i get my own ideas to come up as official stuff" and they answered to me "You need to pitch the idea, you can simply start with sketches of characters if you want", with that in mind i did a quick sketch, as though at that point i had no idea on how to draw and tried my best looking at some refferences and there were 3 chracters: A guy named Anthony, a small rabbit named Zoe and... a long ponytailed girl named Sky Pixelton.

The Original Story:

The original story was something like this; Antohony's grandphather dies from elder and leaves him with a very old game, a game that never released named Skybladers. As soon as he tries it, the console glitches out getting free all the creatures and enemies from the game, included the protagonist... Sky, who saves anthony's life but quickly says that it won't end there, as the main villain Lord Over also escaped and probably would try con conquer his world, she will help him to keep everyone inside the game after defeating them.

This story was developed back in 2016, Glitch Techs was not even a thing, her story was simple and was based on the classic "Fish out of Water" story, Sky was a game character and had to get used to the everyday life, Pixelton was a chosen second name by herself to not call attention on anyone around, but the story wouldn't have many more characters aside from her, the villain and Anthony and Zoe so that's when i decided to actually tweak her story into a mix of sci-fantasy setting and added a few more original chracters tied to her such as Lylat, Cacao and Renin.

But as solution, because i didn't wanted to erase the whole game story i thought for her i preffered to keep the original story as an alternate universe and the canon story is as follows:

At a planet with no name, uptop the clouds exists the great kingdom of suspiro, invaded constantly by creatures, a group known as the Skybladers protect what remains of the old kingdom but keeping the habitants safe from the creatures and monsters that find their way to their cloud utopia. Sky has trained to be part of them all her life and now she can demonstrate her great sword skills to protect them all.

The Desing:

Her very first desing didn't changed much from what i did first on paper and on digital, the main inspiration for her were from the anime i was currently watching at that time, the all well known Yoko Littner with a big ponytail tied up hair and yellow eyes that were the core for her first ever desing, but i wanted to give her something different compared to Yoko, she would be a swordswoman with a uniform kind of clothing, as it was the first ever desing i remade from my very old desings it had a bit of a not so good anatomy and even got mistaken by Shantae at some points, she obviously needed to have some changes.

That's how i came up to my current and favorite desing for her, her uniform changed from grey colours to blue, the hair became way more puffier and got to desing her even on the leg side, with stockings as her favorite kind of clothes to wear; as for her sword it changed from a stereotypical one to a flame sword inspired by Guinsoo's FuryBlade from League of Legends and the lightsabers from starwars, mixing in a flaming sword named "Rizzo's FuryBlade" (not very creative, but usefull) and as i started doing more drawings she became my main subject for testing new sorts of drawing poses and stuff as i can draw Sky from memory completely.

Name:

I had clear that Sky was going to be her name from the very start, after all i got the game's name first "Skybladers" and from that i thought that probably her name should be similar to the game's name, at some times i thought that she could be named Vera, but that part didn't convinced me but i didn't discarded it at all, Vera is still part of her actual name but i'm not going to tell everything about that part for now. Sky in both canon and alt universes is named the same way, Pixelton is her chosen made up last name, even tho is not even real.

Random Facts About Her:

• Sky is ambidextrous, but likes to use more her left hand
• Hates to have her legs uncovered, only does it while wearing swimsuits. Prefers to wear stockings.
• Her favorite food is the Banana Split
• At one point, her original name would have been Sky Scarlett
• If she were from the real world, Sky would be Canadian.
• Despite her not being my first ever thought OC, she was the first i ever drawn.

And that's all for this blog, i want to make a few more on my oldest characters, because some of them really changed a lot since i got their ideas in my head until making them a full OC, but there is not much i can share of them as their stories are frozen in time or have non-canon interactions between them unless i say so in the drawing's description. I may do antoher of this soon as i have still characters to talk about.
